The Lanes Group needs an experienced Waste Water Account Manager with experience in the waste water utility sector to join our Stockton Utility depot

Position: Account Sales Manager

Location: Stockton Utilities

Hours: Full time, Permanent with probationary period

Salary: £28k basic + commission

The job:

Based at our Stockton office and reporting to the Utilities Contract Manager to develop sales lines from the Tier 1 Frameworks that has been secured. The Sales Manager will generate the sales enquires, visit sites, scope, quote, convert to purchase order, create job pack and work with the contracts manager to ensure delivery.

This will be targeted at Northhumbrian Water Tier 1 Contractors and Consultants as well as servicing the requirements of the existing contract, the role is hands-on with the requirement for site visits, B2B interface to provide solutions to fit customer requirements.

Specific Duties:

Develop sales plan to include all disciplines. Jet Vaccumation, Tankering and industrial HPWJ projects.

Produce weekly/monthly opportunities report for Utilities Contract Manager

Achieve and exceed sales targets

Produce and maintain individual client records.

Record all information on Netsuite including producing quotations, risk and method statements.

Attend conference / seminars / exhibitions where required to promote sales.

Produce projected sales figures and reports

Ensure all variations and uplifts are agreed & approved for any additional works.

Interface with clients to assist in providing best possible solutions for resolving problems.

Resolve disputes with customers in liaison with Regional Director/Regional Managers.

Provide detailed information to Marketing Department relative to any potential and existing accounts.


Carry out customer care duties to improve service levels leading to increased revenue lines.

Ensure minimum profit requirements are achieved on sales orders.

Secure and complete tender documents.

Due to the changing nature of our business this job description will inevitably change and evolve. The Account Manager, from time to time, maybe required to undertake other activities of a reasonable nature that fall within its capabilities plus other duties consistent with the role as directed by management.

About you:

Exceptional sales and customer service skills are key to success in this role. With previous field sales experience and a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points, you will have good IT literacy and presentation skills. Service industry or reactive maintenance experience is also vital to the role.

Experience within the Waste Water or Utilities industries is essential to be successful in this role.
