Business Development Manager

Job Details

Working in the hotel and conference division you will maximise new business opportunities and develop new business for the external corporate sector. 

Key Responsibilities:
• Efficiently responding to client enquiries by telephone, email and in person
• Managing the allocation of rooms to maximise revenue
• Developing a new business strategy to pro-actively target new business opportunities for the external corporate sector increasing revenue in accordance with budgeted revenue targets
• Researching and establishing an entry strategy into new market sectors
• Arranging face to face meetings with prospective clients
• Providing quotes and proposals within pre-set parameters and in a timely manner
• Actively cross-selling the range of products to clients as part of the sales conversation

Essential Skills/ Experience:
• Proven new business sales experience ideally in a hotel/conference environment is essential
• Proven track record in new business development
• Customer focused with experience of managing supplier relationships
• Ability to remain calm and professional in pressured situations
• Good presentation skills with a good working knowledge of PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Financially aware with a good knowledge of yield management
• Organised with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
