Recruitment Consultant

Job Details

Purpose

  • Responsible for assisting with attracting candidates and matching them to permanent/ temporary positions with client companies
  • Assist the Consultants and Directors with identifying and attracting new companies
  • Assisting in the recruitment of high calibre candidates
  • Undertake special projects as required by the Directors/ Consultants
  • Support the Directors/ Consultants as necessary on coordinating work and activities and in developing new business

Responsibilities

  • Develop a good understanding of client companies, their industry, what they do and their work culture and environment
  • Advertising vacancies appropriately by drafting and placing adverts in a wide range of media
  • Using candidate databases to find the right person for the client’s vacancy
  • Receiving and reviewing applications, assisting with interviews and creating a shortlist of candidates
  • Requesting references and checking the suitability of candidates before submitting their details to the client
  • Briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the role in question
  • Preparing CVs and correspondence for the consultant to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants
  • Organising interviews for candidates as requested by the client/consultant
  • Informing candidates about the results of their interviews
  • Negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidates
  • Provide advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression
  • Reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes

Experience required

  • Telephone/Customer Service experience
  • Good IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of CRM bases systems
  • Experience working in a targeted sales environment
  • Experience in building and leveraging relationships and establishing excellent rapport

Skills Required

  • Degree or equivalent level qualification (IT Graduate/background in IT desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills both on the phone and written
  • Well-developed relationship building skills with the ability to foster excellent relationships and quickly establish credibility with a wide range of audiences
  • Able to manage a varied and diverse workload effectively
  • Able to contribute corporately to the overall development of the organisation
  • Highly resilient with the ability to challenge constructively and positively
  • Willingness and ambition to learn and develop within the organisation
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the values an ethos of the recruitment industry and the specific aims of the organisation
  • Excellent analytical skills and focus and dedication to a task
  • Self-motivation is a must
  • To work well with a team, as well as using your own initiative
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable to accommodate the needs of a small organisation
