Business Development Manager – Life Science

As a Business Development Manager, you will engage with clients at a technical sales level to identify their biosafety testing needs and provide a scientific and regulatory compliant solution.

you’ll be responsible for advising clients on biosafety testing services, helping our customers meet the regulatory requirements for safety of their biopharmaceutical and vaccine products. You’ll represent and promote SGS testing services with a professional and target focused approach.

As a sales professional, you’ll develop and maintain effective business relationships, managing yoursales territory to ensure that KPIs are achieved within existing and new accounts. You’ll communicate competitor activities, market trends, changing client priorities.

You will oversee all sales proposals and quotations and submit these to clients within the defined timeframe, ensuring technical, timeline, and costing requirements are agreed in advance with operations teams.

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll receive a salary of between £25,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on experience, plus you’ll benefit from a 10% performance bonus, retail discount scheme, private health cover, contributory stakeholder pension scheme and life cover.

You’ll need to be qualified to Bachelor’s degree level (or equivalent) in Micro Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology or related field.  Related experience and knowledge is also acceptable, such as a Business degree and experience in the life science industry.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of biotechnology market and biosafety requirements
  • Customer facing experience, such as client F2F meetings

Travel Requirements:

Regular travel (40-60%) to clients and conferences within the assigned territory and associated accounts will be required.
