Business Development Support (Internal Sales)

Grayford Industrial, multinational company with their head office based near Heathrow, is currently looking to fill a Business Development Support role to work alongside a Global Business Development

Manager. The role will be mainly based at the head office with international travel possible if required.

You will be responsible for assisting in the development of sales territories, including generating new business in the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Mining and Power industries working in support of the GBD Manager. You will also be required to source products ranging from maintenance spares to complete engineering solutions. You will be responsible for generating, collating, reviewing and processing sales requests and purchase orders from customers, and from within the internal contracts team. You will ensure that purchase requests are appropriately recorded within our ISO9001 quality system, showing trend data and analysis relating to the company spend profile over time.

The role will include sourcing quotes from vendors and recommending purchases to the business based upon quality, value, price and availability. You will liaise with the finance team where appropriate to ensure that payment terms for procurement are appropriate, making recommendations to the contracts head where necessary.


You will be suitably qualified, ideally have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or engineering purchasing role. You must have knowledge of Quality Assurance systems and be a skilled negotiator. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills and must be able to work with high volume and sometimes complex demands. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate status reports to management and customers alike. You will possess advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and you must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English. Other languages will be an advantage.
