This business provides a range of equipment and software to businesses across a wide range of industry sectors; they also help with installation, and ongoing technical support. They are looking for a graduate to join their team.
You will be speaking with potential customers (the term is ‘prospects’) and finding out a bit more about their requirements, and explaining how the services work. This could either be over the phone, or face-to-face at business shows and exhibitions.
This will generally result in you booking an appointment for one of the companies technical sales staff to meet with them for a more in-depth discussion and demonstration.
It’s a great service they offer, so you will have plenty of success- but it will not always go smoothly, and you will have to be able to handle lots of ‘no’s’.
You should have a head for technology, but also understand the reluctance that some older users may have with it, thus ensuring you can communicate on any level.
In addition, you will also be creating content for the website, social media channels, and print.
There is a database to keep up to date with information on your calls and the prospects.
There is some flexibility on degree subject, but ones related to business, IT, or marketing would be particularly relevant.
Some kind of sales experience is preferred, but other backgrounds will also be considered for example if you have organised events or a society at University, or demonstrated resilience in some way, perhaps through competitive sport.
In addition to your basic salary, there could potentially be a company bonus depending on how the business performs.
Based in Hampshire and commutable from Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh, Southampton and Winchester.
