Internal Sales Engineer | Hayley Pumps (Dudley)

Our Pumps division located at our branch in Dudley are currently recruiting for an Internal Sales Engineer.

Job Title: Internal Sales Engineer

Location:Unit 5, Castle Mill Works, Birmingham New Road, Dudley, DY1 4DA

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
(Additional working hours may be required)

Representing our Pumps division at our branch based in Dudley, the main responsibility of the Internal Sales role will be to provide support to our branch network. Your main day-to-day tasks will include handling enquiries via telephone/email, producing/progressing quotations and orders along with supplying product literature support, and solving invoice queries.

The Internal Sales role will allow you to work alongside the Pumps team to build your understanding of Hayley Group’s processes and systems. You will become an integral part of the team, helping to develop all areas of the internal pump team, as well as your own understanding of products and customer requirements.

This role is suitable to those currently within a sales or engineering environment; however, we also welcome applicants looking to start a new career, as full training will be provided on our full product range, as well as Hayley’s bespoke computer software and systems.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Handling customer enquiries via email/telephone
  • Producing quotations to satisfy customer requirements / enquiries
  • Processing and raising purchase orders
  • Progressing and ensuring that orders reach customers in an efficient and timely manner
  • Following up on quotation progress with both branches and customers
  • Conducting stock checks as required
  • Providing ad-hoc branch support, including deliveries and collections, as required

The ideal candidate will have following key skills:

  • Previous experience in an engineering environment would be advantageous, however it is not essential
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, with a good understanding of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and OneDrive)
  • Customer focused – driven to provide a consistent high level of service
  • Good verbal and written communication skill

Full training for the role will be provided.
