Key Client Manager

Can you provide excellent service to our key customers and are you up for an international adventure in transport? Join our team now as our Key Client Manager.

As a Key Client Manager, you will be developing relationships with major customers on all levels in the customers’ organisation. You will not only be growing existing customers by providing solutions based on customer needs and requirements, but you will also be generating new customers. In addition, you will be leading the contractual negotiations.

The challenge is to act as a knowledgeable partner for our customers to gain trust, resolve issues and problems faced by customers, and deal with complaints adequately and promptly. In order to act as the communication link between customers and internal divisions, you will have regular interaction with Trade Management, Customer Service, Tender, Accounting & Finance, Legal & Claims and Business Processes.

An example of what your week might look like

Monday: assessing risks on customers’ supply chain in case of unforeseen events. You will gather involved colleagues, discuss actions to mitigate the impact and ensure proactive communication.

Tuesday: travelling to the UK to visit a customers’ local factory, learning about how Samskips’ performance is perceived by local stakeholders. In addition, you will get to know the short-term and long-term developments and challenges which are to be expected, and the role we are expected to play in this.

Wednesday: reporting relevant factory visit updates to relevant internal stakeholders and making sure actions are followed up on within the timeframe.

Thursday: meeting with the Tender department to pre-discuss upcoming tenders for customers. You will be making sure the expectations are shared with all the internal stakeholders timely and accurately.

Friday: discussing overall business performance, market and company developments, and ongoing projects with the customers’ HQ, during a quarterly business review.

You are well aware of what top-notch service includes, and are able to negotiate effectively with customers. You can solve problems easily due to your excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We would like you to demonstrate strong analytical and consultative selling skills. In addition, you are highly self-motivated, driven and ambitious. You are eager to develop yourself and your political skills.

The Key Client Manager we are looking for:

  • holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in logistics management, international business or commercial economics.
  • has 5 years’ relevant working experience.
  • masters the English language, both verbally and written.
  • is willing to travel on a regular basis.
