Bradfords Building Supplies and YPS Plumbing Supplies has an exciting opportunity for a Plumbing and Heating Purchasing Manager. The role based in our head office in Yeovil, however we can be flexible on location for the right person. We are looking for a talented, ambitious purchasing professional with a work hard / play hard attitude to join our team and help us develop our plumbing and heating supplies business.

The Bradfords Group is one of the largest, family owned businesses in the South West. Bradfords Building Supplies is the largest independent Builders Merchant in the South West with over 40 branches, 650 employees and annual sales of over £100m. YPS is one of the fastest growing independent plumbing and heating merchants in the country. When YPS was acquired by Bradfords in 2015 it was a single branch business based in Yeovil. There are now 23 YPS branches across the south west with more in the pipeline.

What will I be responsible for?

The Plumbing & Heating Purchasing Manager’s role is to work with internal teams and external suppliers to get the best possible deals on all the products in our extensive plumbing and heating range. This will include analysing our current range, developing strong relationships with suppliers and sourcing new products.

Work with the Managing Director, YPS to meet individual and team objectives as set out in the strategic business plan and to exceed budgetary expectations

Create and deliver the plumbing and heating purchasing strategy

Support the Managing Director, YPS and the wider purchasing team in driving the purchasing strategy to deliver tangible value and benefits

Build effective working relationships with suppliers in support of the plumbing and heating category, the team and the wider business.
