Key to our strategy is the urgent appointment of an experienced Sales Development Coordinator to help spearhead further growth within the Irish packaging market. The Role

Working at our Newtonmountkennedy site in County Wicklow, you shall report into the Sales Manager and take an active lead on prospecting, direct marketing and appointment setting in order to build pipeline in relation to both new client acquisition and renewal of dormant & lapsed accounts. This is a 100% pro-active role (no existing account management) so you will be expected to devise and execute a sales plan from start to finish, the undertaking appropriate of market research to underpin your sales & marketing activity. Your success within this role will be defined by the amount of new/renewed business that is generated over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building strong product knowledge and using this expertise in order to understand customer needs.
  • To secure appointments at the appropriate level within prospective customers
  • To research and identify potential customers
  • Validate identified opportunities and provide sales leads to external sales
  • Lead local marketing campaigns with support from Head Office
  • Actively contact all lapsed accounts to ensure opportunities are not missed
  • Initiate mailshots and follow up as relevant
  • Support the sales administration process, utilising the relevant systems including company CRM
  • Extensive reporting and analysis of customer data, using Excel spreadsheets to help track and identify new business opportunities.
  • Working closely with the Data Analyst based at Macfarlane Head Office to undertake analysis of customers

Do you have the correct profile?

Ideally, we are seeking someone who has spent time working successfully within a similar pro-active internal sales role which has been geared towards identifying and securing new customers in Ireland. Prior experience of packaging is by no means essential as full training and product knowledge can be provided, but you shall be self-driven, tenacious, results-orientated and accustomed to ‘winning’ when it comes to new sales generation. Adept at market research and analysis, sales plan delivery, direct sales and marketing campaigns, you will enjoy the autonomy that such a well-rounded role can bring. Please note this is not a field sales role, but the position is firmly anchored to our site in Newtonmountkennedy. There may be occasion for some client meetings but essentially you must be located within a sensible commute of our site.
