Description of the Company: Sigma deals in used construction equipment. We buy and sell machines for quarrying, road construction and earthmoving, like bulldozers, rollers and cranes. Our customers and suppliers are based around the world, and we handle all the shipping and delivery for the machines to our clients.

Role: Everything we deal in is used, so we need to find each machine one by one. The responsibility of the role is to contact suppliers, find machines that sell, to support sales by providing information on the machine as required, and finally to negotiate the purchase of the machine with the supplier. If you love buying and selling, spotting a bargain and building relationships, this role will be great fun for you.

To excel in the role: You must be dedicated to intensive web searching to find new suppliers. You must be comfortable at building new relationships and excellent at retaining existing ones. You must have a keen eye for a bargain, and enjoy getting a better deal out of the supplier, whilst leaving all parties comfortable with the deal. You must enjoy finding the bargain that no one else sees, and be dedicated to follow the deal through and support it to a successful conclusion.

You’ll know when you are succeeding because you’ll be finding more machines that sell, and you will be tracking your own profit that you have earnt. You will be building strong relationships with both suppliers and our sales people, and people will appreciate you for your knowledge of market values, of suppliers and their fleets, and for your knowledge of machinery specifications.
