Technical Account Manager

This is a chance for you to join a specialist consultancy who collaborate with leading manufacturers and other academic institutes and solution providers to deploy innovative technologies, tools and methods to support the manufacturing sector.

Having recently secured a contract with a large North East manufacturer, they require an astute individual to initially manage this account, working to a five year plan to develop and grow additional lucrative contracts.

THE ROLE

As Account Manager you will take responsibility for securing a range of commercial manufacturing innovation projects, working closely with internal Engineers and Senior Management Team on supporting large, global accounts. This role requires the ability to secure, plan and direct projects – including allocating resources, budgeting and coordinating with other team members and wider stakeholders.

You will support the Strategic Account Manager in the planning and delivery of account management, whilst identifying opportunities to grow the business. Tasked with drafting commercial proposals to accounts, and seeing these through to completion. You will maintain commercial aspects of your projects and accounts, including forecasts and budgeting – providing briefs for the technical teams, to ensure that work is accurately quoted and set to meet client objectives.

Working closely with clients, you will maintain solid understanding of their fundamental business strategy, positioning and objectives. Directing projects from inception to completion, you will hold brainstorming sessions to identify solutions to meet client objectives, and work with client stakeholders to gain their buy-in. You will hold responsibility for both client and internal communication throughout the lifecycle of project delivery, from requirements gathering to briefing teams to launch.

Showing strong sales acumen, you will contribute to new pitches on a regional and national basis; as well as attending events and activities to support engagement with local stakeholders.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

To be successful with your application you must carry strong experience in a comparable role, bringing a thorough understanding of the innovation and regional high volume manufacturing landscape.

You must be a proactive sales professional, with extensive technical understanding and experience. You will show excellent client management skills, with a proven ability to understand client needs, and how innovative technologies and method can help meet their objectives.

It is essential that you carry a concept of innovation with a strong sense for business transformation. You will be both driven and commercially-minded, used to working in a fast-paced environment.

THE SALARY

You will receive a competitive financial package of up to £40K.

YOUR COMMITMENT

This role is a permanent contract – you will be required to work from home 2 days per week and based at the clients’ location for 3 days per week.
