Technical Sales Advisor

Job Details

Technical Sales Advisor is a key member of the company working alongside other sales engineers and sales support staff. The role is to provide technical, commercial and administrative support to the external sales team.

This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic technical sales advisor to grow their experience in a world leading company in the industrial vacuum pump industry.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the sales support pipeline
  • Providing advice to customers on the technical specification of vacuum pumps
  • Quotation of pumps
  • Managing sales funnels
  • Daily close contact on a professional sales level with external sales team
  • Contributing to the sales forecast
  • Generally ensuring the smooth running of the sales process
  • Handling technical enquiries and advising customers on product selection.
  • Provide a proactive approach to supporting our customers including regular follow-up and general liaison
  • Compiling and selecting technical information
  • Convert your enquiries into orders
  • Liaise with engineering department as necessary to specify equipment specifications

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Self-motivated
  • The ideal candidate is likely to have existing technical sales experience
  • Experience within in an internal or external role
  • Ideally (but by no means essentially) have experience in the industrial vacuum pump market
  • Technical discipline
  • A focussed and enthusiastic individual
  • With a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Looking to make a real and valued contribution to the sales team
  • Predominantly based in the office in Crewe – however at times it may be necessary to visit customer sites
  • A-Level ‘s or further education (mechanical/Chemical/Science/engineering disciplines) Or technical understanding of rotating equipment
  • Graduates who are looking for a firm footing in a technical sales environment
  • IT Skills (Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, SAP systems etc.)
  • Above average interpersonal skills with an enthusiasm to connect with our customer network
  • A natural understanding of the sales process
  • An understanding of the needs of the customer
  • A customer focussed mindset
  • Product and application knowledge in a technical discipline
  • Technical proficiency
  • Ability to adapt to change and a willingness to learn
  • Keen eye for detail, attention to accuracy
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Self-motivated
  • Manage your own time and your own workload as required
  • Engineering qualification
  • Commercial/Technical experience within similar industries/market


Monday/Friday, 37.5 hours per week, flexi hours between 07.30 and 18:00
