About the Role

Head of Sales – Conferences & Events

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Head of Sales to lead the Conferences & Events (C&E) sales function. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth, delivering the C&E sales budget, and leading a high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with key industry partners, and positioning us as a leading destination for conferences and events within the UK market.

As a proactive sales leader, you will manage and inspire the C&E sales team to achieve ambitious targets while shaping and delivering the venue’s sales and marketing strategy. You will also represent us across the industry, building strong relationships with venue and live communication agencies, and associations, while ensuring the venue’s brand, marketing presence, and participation at industry exhibitions and trade shows are impactful and effective.

What you’ll be doing

Delivering the Conferences & Events sales and profitability targets

Leading, motivating, and performance managing the C&E sales team to achieve KPIs

Developing and executing a strategic sales and marketing plan to drive business growth

Building and maintaining strong relationships with venue agencies, live communication agencies, and associations

Identifying and developing new business opportunities across key market segments

Representing the venue at industry exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events

Overseeing all C&E marketing activity including website content and brand presentation

Producing accurate sales reports, forecasts, and leading the C&E budgeting process

Working closely with Key Account Directors to deliver account strategies and targets

Implementing effective sales processes to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency

What you’ll need to succeed

Extensive sales experience within the UK conference and events industry

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering revenue growth

Experience leading and motivating sales teams to achieve KPIs and performance targets

Strong relationships within the UK C&E market, particularly with agencies and associations

Experience developing sales strategies, plans, and budgets

Excellent client relationship management and negotiation skills

Strong attention to detail with experience preparing sales proposals and presentations

Confidence in delivering venue showrounds and representing the venue professionally
