Marketing Executive

EMAP events marketing offers an incredibly fast paced and dynamic environment. Working on market leading awards and conferences you will be responsible for driving volume and revenue growth as well as creating lead generation for sponsorship sales through multi-media direct marketing campaigns. This role is responsible for the World Architecture Festival (WAF), a three-day event for architects and interior design professionals, held in Amsterdam in November.

The successful candidate will have to manage a large workload, but will be working within a supportive and friendly environment – and will occasionally be expected to support on other events within the wider Fashion, Architecture and Building Services (FABS) portfolio.

EMAP is very results focused but offers a competitive package, training and market leading software such as Marketo and Salesforce.

Key Accountabilities: 
  • Manage the implementation and optimisation of WAF’s strategic media partnerships
  • Initiate, structure, negotiate and maintain high impact partnerships
  • Research and identify potential new partners. Build relationships and pitch the WAF brand confidently
  • Track, analyse and communicate key quantitative metrics to develop beneficial partnerships
  • Become the primary point of contact for and maintain strong direct relationships with WAF’s key partners
  • Proactively resolve any issues that may arise with the partnerships
  • Produce all marketing collateral needed and execute activity to fulfil each contract
  • Monitor all partner activity to ensure contract requirements are being met
  • Manage social media marketing campaigns for WAF and INSIDE across all channels including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Create, curate and manage all published content (images, video, text)
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “social” way whilst still adhering to brand guidelines and cultivating leads for sales
  • Develop and expand the community using key social influencers
  • Oversee design including profile pics, images, landing pages
  • Regular analysis of key metrics and develop strategy as needed
  • Compile ROI reports for updates on campaign success
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy
  • Deliver a world-class, brand enhancing, marketing communication programme for WAF that increases the number of entries, the number of event delegates and the revenue
  • Plan and implement effective, targeted multi-media campaigns to generate awareness, interest, and desired action in chosen countries and key regions
  • Ensure all marketing activity and results are tracked and measured to allow dynamic investment based on analysis of current and past performance
  • Proactively develop the database to support marketing strategies and long-term audience development
  • Create compelling, needs based campaigns that articulate the value of our brands and the brand propositions whilst maintaining brand guidelines
  • Work within agreed customer metrics and KPI’s (opens, clicks, CPR, CPA etc.)
  • Coordinate activity across key channels: email, web, social media, web, print, ensuring consistent messaging
  • Develop customer data builds, usage and analytics to increase effective targeting, response/ conversion rates
  • Measure and review key ROI / KPI criteria to increase lead generation, conversion, retention rates
  • Use market intelligence, customer insight and analysis to increase understanding audience and effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Work with data and digital teams to use all tools, techniques and touch points to maximise sales effectiveness and create consistent campaign messages
  • Work with full event team to deliver group, as well as individual targets, and in line with agreed priorities
  • Contribute to overall knowledge and expertise within the team to ensure growth targets are met and drive operational excellence
  • Work within and keep up to date with all industry best practice and adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines as required by all EMAP/ Metropolis employees (DP and privacy, competition law, ASA, Trading standards etc.)
Experience: 
  • Proven track record in events marketing, campaign management and digital marketing – 2+years
  • Hold a degree or equivalent marketing diploma
  • Good understanding of online audiences’ behaviour, needs and changing trends
  • Able to work to challenging targets within tight timeframes, prioritising and setting clear, measurable and achievable goals
  • Proven experience of developing and managing strategic plans and budgets
  • Ability to spot opportunities, transform ideas into reality and review challenges and generate fresh solutions

  • Exceptional communication – able to develop excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Time management and organisation – proven ability to prioritise multiple projects whilst meeting deadlines
  • A problem solver – curious in nature and able to independently offer solutions to problems
  • Analytical with a high attention to detail and able to spot trends and glean insights from raw data
  • Numerate – should have a good head for figures
  • High level of copy writing and proofreading ability
  • A creative mind set with the ability to put forward innovative ideas and see them through to completion
  • Target and results orientated with strong attention to detail
