We were established in October 2022 as a ‘Local Authority Trading Company’ of Dorset Council – meaning we’re independent, but publicly owned. This arrangement frees us to think about the needs of the people we support first, not profits. Any surplus we make is reinvested into care and support. Care Dorset employs over 800 colleagues offering care and support to around 900 people from 23 services (plus home visits).
