This is a rare opportunity for a talented Account Manager, who is an expert in client and supplier management, to join this fast-growing facilities management company. They are looking for that elusive mix of commercial acumen with a genuine customer focus and in return will offer a competitive package with the possibility of working from home for one or two days per week.
This is a true account management role, where the emphasis is on maintaining, strengthening and growing relationships within key accounts. As the interface between the customer and your own organisation plus secondary suppliers, your key function will be to resolve service issues, manage sub-contractors, ensure client satisfaction and maximise all business opportunities. As a part of this, you will be expected to continually monitor service levels and KPIs, whilst growing revenue and profitability.
Experience within similar role where you have effectively been the “middle man” between two parties, managing expectations and resolving conflicts when they occur, would be extremely beneficial. Naturally, you will also be expected to maximise every opportunity for cross- or up-selling and previous experience of handling contract negotiations or tender renewals would also be advantageous.
Since all management information is kept in Excel, knowing your way around spreadsheets will make your life much easier and, in fact, your starting salary will partially be determined by your knowledge of Excel. You should feel completely comfortable dealing with figures and should be confident reading and analysing profit & loss accounts.
The ideal candidate for this job will be a self-starter who is not afraid of holding difficult conversations, but who can guarantee a diplomatic, professional approach at all times that will ensure a satisfactory outcome for all parties. People management is key and, since your portfolio will include some major clients, it is essential that you can quickly earn their trust and respect.
