Business Development Manager
Location: Basingstoke (Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days WFH)
Package: Basic salary + uncapped commission + car allowance + strong benefits
A leading technology provider is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to win new customers and grow a small portfolio of existing private sector, education and housing accounts.
If you enjoy consultative selling, building long‑term relationships and developing accounts over time, this role gives you the platform — and the portfolio — to make a visible impact.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for both new business development and account growth, including:
Identifying and winning new private sector customers
Re‑engaging dormant or underused accounts
Growing revenue across a broad technology solutions portfolio
Building strong relationships with IT, operational and procurement stakeholders
Understanding customer priorities and positioning relevant solutions
Managing renewals, proposals, commercial discussions and pipeline forecasting
Working closely with technical teams and vendor partners to shape solutions
What You’ll Bring
Proven B2B sales. Cold calling through to account management
A track record of growing revenue within existing accounts
Strong relationship‑building and consultative selling skills
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and maintain accurate pipeline data
Understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud, managed services or technology solutions
Confident communicator able to engage senior stakeholders
Desirable: Experience in private sector, education or housing markets; familiarity with CRM systems (Dynamics ideal).
