Business Development Representative
We are recruiting an ambitious Business Development Representative to join a growing organisation within the coatings and industrial solutions sector. This Business Development Representative role is ideal for a driven sales professional who enjoys autonomy, building long-term relationships, and winning new business in a competitive market.
As a Business Development Representative, you will manage your own time, work largely field-based, and focus on developing new business opportunities while strengthening existing client relationships. This Business Development Representative position offers the chance to take ownership of your territory and directly influence sales performance and growth.
This is a permanent, home-based role, covering your designated region, with regular travel to customer sites and industry events. You’ll be joining a well-established business with a strong reputation in its sector, known for quality products, innovation, and customer focus.
Main Responsibilities:
Act as a Business Development Representative, promoting and selling products to both existing and prospective customers
Identify and develop new business opportunities, clients, markets, and partnerships
Generate leads, build a robust sales pipeline, and convert prospects into long-term clients
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching through to negotiation and deal closure
Build and maintain strong, lasting customer relationships
Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and effective service delivery
Prepare and present professional business proposals based on performance data and industry trends
Represent the business at exhibitions, trade shows, distributor events, and networking functions
Skills / Experience:
3–7 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management
Proven success in a Business Development Representative or similar sales-focused role
Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Ability to work independently and manage a remote, field-based role
Knowledge of the spray coatings, refinish, or industrial coatings industry (highly desirable)
Salary & Working Hours:
Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
Full-time, Monday to Friday
Home-based with regular travel within the assigned territory
