The Role
Based in London and reporting to the Head of Direct Sales – EU Growth Markets, as an Sales Development Representative you will generate interest in Megaport’s portfolio of solutions to enterprises within an assigned geographic territory, with the prime objective of generating sales opportunities for the field sales team.

You will be responsible for understanding Megaport’s solution offerings and the competitive landscape and tasked with identifying new business opportunities. In addition, you will be responsible for creating and implementing territory campaigns with the assistance of the Head of Direct Sales EU Growth Markets.

You will be tasked to liaise with prospective customer contacts for the purpose of identifying new opportunities and selling Megaport’s range of solutions.

The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy selling, are achievement-oriented and believe in performance rewards for exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals. The ideal candidate is success-driven, fast-paced, and works well in a diverse team and enjoys a dynamic and changing environment.
What you’ll be doing

Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
Understand customer needs and requirements.
Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.
Secure appointments with prospective customers.
Utilise a range of sales tools to identify appropriate contacts within targeted organisations.
Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest in Megaport’s solutions.
Utilise social media channels to broaden your profile, research target contacts and engage with prospective customers.
Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory.
Present online demos of Megaport’s leading-edge portal to prospects.
Manage and report pipeline activities to senior management.
Research current business drivers, strategic objectives, internal investment areas and key stakeholders to create campaign strategies.
Use the information gathered on target markets, potential clients and the most favourable business models, and partner with the sales management and marketing teams to define the most effective strategies to penetrate markets effectively.

What We Are Looking For

Ambitious individuals with a knowledge of how to identify opportunities to target and promote the Megaport brand and solutions to and build relationships with enterprise customers.
High energy, strong prospecting, qualifying and closing skills.
Expert communication, presentation, and time management skills.
Must work successfully in a remote, globally distributed work environment

Innovative, commercially focused and collaborative approach.
Understanding of enterprise IT systems and technology.
Excellent verbal/written skills necessary.
Language Skills: Fluent English (Level C2), German (Level C2) and French (Level C2).
