Sales Development Representative – Contracts (Construction Sector)

Salary: £50,000 + up to £30,000 commission
Location: London / South-East / Home Counties / Midlands (Field-Based)

A well-established specialist manufacturer and project delivery organisation is seeking an accomplished Sales Development Representative to support long-term growth across major construction and fit-out projects. Operating from a large head office and production facility in Bedfordshire, the company employs over 60 professionals across estimating, project management, manufacturing and installation.

The team works extensively with contractors known for high-quality, design-led delivery and has contributed to multiple landmark developments across London and the UK.

As the business continues to expand its reach, it is now focused on developing a wider network of clients within new build, refurbishment, private residential, retail and leisure sectors.

The Role: Sales Development Representative – Contracts

The position is centred on expanding the organisation’s pipeline of contract work, typically for projects valued at £100,000+ and often commencing 6–18 months ahead of delivery.

This is a relationship-driven, senior networking and business development role aimed at identifying and converting high-value opportunities within the construction environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Sales Development Representative

Build and nurture new relationships with contractors, fit-out specialists, developers, architects and other construction-related stakeholders.
Identify upcoming project opportunities and introduce the business to key decision-makers.
Represent the company at major trade shows, design exhibitions and construction industry events.
Collaborate with in-house Estimators, Project Managers and technical teams to help progress tenders and opportunities through to conversion.
Maintain clear CRM records, reporting on pipeline health and progress.
Develop strategies that ensure strong, continual growth of the contracts pipeline.
Operate with a high degree of autonomy while working cohesively with the wider team.

Candidate Profile of the Sales Development Representative

The ideal candidate will bring:

Experience & Network

An existing network within the construction sector. This may come from roles in interior fit-out, construction, property, finance, insurance, or construction-related technology platforms (e.g., project management or estimating systems).
A proven system for building and expanding professional relationships.
Experience attending sector events such as Milan Design Week, Surface Design Show, Independent Hotel Show, KBB, Clerkenwell Design Week, London Build Expo, Homebuilding and Renovating Show, Futurebuild, or similar.

Skills & Attributes

Highly professional, articulate and driven.
Exceptional communication skills—written and spoken English.
Degree-educated with a 2:1 or above.
Strong familiarity with CRM platforms and an informed preference for a particular system.
Self-motivated and proactive, capable of independently identifying, approaching and converting potential customers.
