This not-for-profit organisation is looking for a successful sales person with a proven track record to achieve their recruitment target for new members. With the highest UK-wide profile and the largest existing membership of comparable organisations, you can be assured that you will be representing a reputable and successful organisation.
This is a sales-focused role, well suited to a driven individual who can demonstrate a friendly, professional telephone manner. You should be sufficiently self-motivated to pick up the phone all day, every day to speak to potential new members over the phone with the aim of selling the benefits of the organisation’s membership package. Some enquiries will be passed to you from the website, whereas for others, you will need to use your initiative to identify and convert potential leads from a wide variety of sources. Any experience of using social media for marketing and sales purposes would be highly beneficial and you will be given free rein to make suggestions for other methods of increasing membership sales.
Whist the majority of the role will be office-based and primarily on the telephone, you should also feel comfortable meeting clients, as you will also be expected to attend occasional meetings and exhibitions, where you will meet both new and existing members.
Naturally, you will be set KPIs and targets and will be expected to report back on these weekly. You should also be familiar with producing forecasts and sales pipelines for your Director, who will in turn present your figures to the Board.
This is a professional, consultative sales role which will appeal to individuals with strong influencing skills and a positive outlook; you will be working in a very small team and, as the only sales person, it is essential that you can motivate yourself, even through the quieter times.
Good, solid business to business sales experience is essential for this position, ideally within the SME market, as is a stable career history. Although not essential, your own transport would also be beneficial. For the right person, there may well be the opportunity to progress into a more senior role further down the line.
